Let's get your filter installed.
Pick your product, watch the short video and follow the steps. Most installs take about 5 minutes, no tools.
- Remove your shower headUnscrew it from the shower arm, counterclockwise.
- Wrap the threads with plumber's tape3 to 4 wraps, clockwise, on the shower arm threads and on the filter's outlet threads. This is the step that prevents leaks.
- Hand-tighten, no wrenchScrew the filter onto the arm, then your shower head onto the filter. Overtightening can crack the threads.
- Run the water for 30 secondsStill dripping? Unscrew, add one more wrap of tape and hand-tighten again.
Change the cartridge every 3 to 4 months. Each cartridge is rated for 3,500 gallons. Change it sooner if the chlorine smell comes back or your water pressure drops.
- Have a hose and holder readyThe Vitamin C head is a handheld and connects to a standard shower hose and holder (not included with the head).
- Tape the threads3 to 4 wraps of plumber's tape, clockwise, on each threaded connection.
- Hand-tighten the head onto the hoseNo wrench needed. Run the water for 30 seconds.
- Refill when the vitamin C runs lowPure vitamin C dissolves faster than blends with fillers, usually in 1 to 2 months. Refill the cartridge with any pure ascorbic acid powder. The video shows how.
Why it runs out faster: the cartridge holds pure vitamin C with no xanthan gum, so it works at full strength. That's why we made it refillable.
- Start at the shower armRemove your old shower head and tape the arm threads, 3 to 4 wraps clockwise.
- Add the 2.0 Carbon filter firstHand-tighten it onto the arm. Carbon goes first so the water is filtered before it reaches the vitamin C.
- Connect the holder, hose and Vitamin C headTape each threaded connection and hand-tighten. The video shows the exact order.
- Run the water for 30 secondsAny drip means one more wrap of tape at that joint.
Two schedules to remember: carbon cartridge every 3 to 4 months, vitamin C refill about every 1 to 2 months. Register and we'll remind you for both.
