The Science Behind The AquaYouth 2.0 Shower Filter
What Customers Are Saying
Why should you filter your shower water?

Unfiltered water may strip the natural oils from your hair & skin.
Chlorine and other contaminants can strip away the natural oils in your hair and skin, causing damage, dryness, and irritation.

Hard water strips the natural oils from your hair and skin.
Unfiltered shower water can strip away the natural oils in your hair and skin, causing damage, dryness, and irritation.

Chlorine and chloramines can also negatively effect other areas of health.
When chlorine or chloramines in water are heated during a shower, they can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and chlorine byproducts, such as trihalomethanes (THMs), into the air. These byproducts can be inhaled. Inhaling these chemicals during a hot shower may lead to higher levels of exposure than drinking the same water because the lungs absorb these compounds more efficiently.
Not all shower filters are created equal.
Read below how the AquaYouth 2.0 Carbon Shower Filter compares to other shower filters on the market.
NSF Certified
Certified to NSF/ANSI 177 & 372.
Very few shower filters are NSF certified, despite some using phrases like "Far exceeds NSF-177 certifications" without actually being NSF certified in an attempt to trick customers.
Chlorine Reduction
Reductions confirmed by NSF & KEWI.
Some are capable, some are not, but most are not certified to remove over 50% chlorine (NSF-177). No testing data publicly available for most, but chlorine reductions to some degree are likely.
Chloramine Reduction
Minimal reduction of chloramine by itself, but can be paired with AquaYouth Vitamin C shower head for very effective chloramine filtration in cities that use chloramine. Roughly 30% to 40% of cities/towns use chloramine instead of chlorine.
One of the few shower filters that is effective for chloramine neutralization in a shower.
Most are not capable of meaningful chloramine reductions in a shower. Chloramine is very difficult to neutralize in a shower due to limited contact time with the filter.
Heavy Metal Reduction
Heavy metal reductions have been confirmed by the KEWI.
Some are capable, some are not, very rare to find one with publicly available testing data.
Product Safety Certifications
Our filters are REACH & RoHs compliant with over 226 material safety tests passed.
REACH & RoHs compliant with over 226 material safety tests passed. Also underwent a clinical trial and was found to be effective for skin hydration.
